The 2020 BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has been officially launched by the brand at a price tag of INR 1.03 lakh for the disc brake variant and INR 99,950 for the drum brake variant. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom Delhi. The updated model of the RTR 160 4V is one of the first BS6 motorcycles to be unveiled by the brand while the rest of the portfolio is expected to be updated soon. The bookings for the motorcycle have already begun at the authorized dealerships as of today.
The disc brake variant of the motorcycle gets a hike in the price tag by INR 3,000 as compared to the previous-gen variant while the drum brake variant gets an increase in the price tag by INR 8,000. The BS6 engine of the Apache RTR 160 4V is equipped with Race Tuned Fuel injection (RT-Fi) technology which allows the engine to have an in-built segment-first GTT (Glide Through Traffic) capability.
Coming to the design language, the brand has equipped the 2020 BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V with revised race-inspired graphics in addition to offering an all-new full-LED headlight. The brand has further improved the touch start on the motorcycle to make it more appealing to the customers while offering all-new aerodynamic claw mirrors. Apart from these, the brand has also equipped the motorcycle with claw-styled position lamps that offer better illumination.
Powering the motorcycle is a 159.7cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, 4-valve BS6 engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 16.02HP @ 8250 rpm and a peak torque of 14.12Nm @ 7250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The BS4 version of the motorcycle, on the other hand, was good for 16.8HP of power and 14.8Nm of utmost torque. The customers can further avail the 2020 BS6 model of the RTR 160 4V in Racing Red, Metallic Blue, and Knight Black colours.
