Apart from the latest leaked image of the 2020 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, the 160cc variant of the same has also surfaced online. The newly revealed image of the next-gen model of the RTR 160 4V gives the viewers a clear view of the motorcycle’s mildly-facelifted design.
Taking the styling inspiration from its elder 200cc sibling, the updated motorcycle features the same LED headlight and DRLs setup at the front. The all-digital instrument console of the motorcycle will also get Bluetooth connectivity in addition to offering a turn-by-turn navigation feature. In addition to this, the 2020 Apache RTR 160 4V will also get an updated alloy wheel design similar to the one offered on the RTR 200 4V.
In terms of mechanical bits, the brand is expected to update the motorcycle with a BS6-compliant engine though the power and torque figures may vary as the brand will be making some changes to meet the upcoming emission norms.
The current-gen TVS Apache RTR 160 is powered by a 159.7 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled 4-valve engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 16.8 HP at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Coming to the hardware specifications, the motorcycle is expected to get similar traits as that of its current-gen model which includes the same dual-tone paint scheme in addition to same styling ergonomics. The suspension duties on the motorcycle are handled by conventional telescopic forks at the front while the rear features a monoshock absorber.
The Apache RTR 160 4V is equipped with a petal disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, with an option of a disc brake in top-spec variants. There has been no confirmation of the official launch of the 2020 model as of yet though one can expect the brand to roll out its BS6 series post-October 2019.
