5 Must-Know Facts About TVS Apache RTR 300 (Akula 310)

The flagship TVS Apache RTR 200 might not stay at the top for very long as there have been times when a fully faired TVS motorcycle was spotted on the public roads. The motorcycle carries a fully faired design and uses modern equipment in place of conventional units on the earlier Apache motorcycles. It is expected to be sold as the TVS Apache RTR 300. Here are the 5 must know facts about the upcoming flagship motorcycle.

5 Must-Know Facts About TVS Apache RTR 300

1) Based on Akula 310 Concept

The new Apache RTR 300 will be based on the Akula 310 Concept showcase @ 2016 Auto Expo. TVS seems to have understood the fact that its not good to take the concept from one Auto Expo to another (2 years of gap in each of them). They may launch the motorcycle soon after its testing finishes in the coming days. It has been spotted multiple times and comes with nearly identical components as the concept bike. However the carbon fiber parts would be replaced by fiber or plastic components.

2) Part Sharing with BMW G310R

The upcoming Apache RTR 300 will be sharing parts with the internationally launched BMW G310R. The motorcycle shares chassis, suspension brakes and even the exhaust system with the most affordable BMW motorcycle. It will be made on the same production line as the BMW G310R as the same is manufactured by TVS for BMW.

3) Performance Values

The motorcycle will use the same engine as G310R, which is a 313 cc unit producing 33.6 BHP and 28 Nm of torque. The added weight will be managed by the aerodynamically efficient TVS design while the motorcycle will use a 6-speed gearbox, being the first in TVS Apache series. It will claim around 150+ kmph of top speed.

4) Instrument Console

It can use the same unit as the BMW G310R while the chances of a different unit are also equal in this case. TVS Apache RTR 200 has been fitted with a fully digital instrument console, which is again a nice console with nearly every required value. TVS can use many such components for cost cutting and differentiation from the BMW G310R.

5) Pricing

It could be the most affordable and high performance motorcycle of its category. If BMW places the G310R under INR 2 lakh, the TVS branded Apache RTR 300 could even be placed in the category of CBR250R. Even when offered with ABS, it won’t exceed the CBR price for sure.
