TVS Apache RTR 200 won the 2017 Indian Motorcycle of the Year (IMOTY) award by defeating 11 others from a total of 30 bikes launched this year. The even witnessed personalities from the automotive world, ranking these products on the basis of their usability, style and loads of other factors. The bikes under the final 5 included Royal Enfield Himalayan, Kawasaki Versys 650, TVS Victor, Honda Navi and TVS Apache RTR 200.

The judges used all of their experience and knowledge about motorcycles that they gained in the past years and evaluated these finalist on every possible basis around the industry. The panel included Shubhabrata Marmar and Rishaad Mody (Overdrive), Aspi Bhathena and Sarmad Kadiri (Bike India), Debabrata Sarkar and Christopher Chaves (Top Gear India) and others from reputed channels like AutoX, Evo India and Auto Today.
TVS Apache RTR 200 bagged the first position while Kawasaki Versys 650 and Royal Enfield Himalayan came second and third respectively. RTR 200 is powered by a 197.75 cc, single cylinder engine producing 20.23 BHP and 18.1 Nm of torque. It come mated to a 5-speed gearbox and claims a starting price of INR 89,215. The motorcycle comes with optional Pirelli tyres for a premium of INR 5000.
