The 2020 BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has been recently launched in India at a price tag of INR 99,950 for the drum brake variant and INR 1.03 lakh for the disc brake variant. The BS6 engine of the bike is equipped with Race-Tuned Fuel Injection (RT-Fi) along with Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology, which is a first-in-segment feature for urban riding.
With this feature, the vehicle starts moving with a slow release of the clutch lever, without using the throttle. It is indeed a convenient feature while riding in heavy traffic. A recent video by Dino’s Vault gives a detailed explanation of how Glide Through Traffic (GTT) technology works.
Talking about the design, the brand has equipped the 2020 BS6 TVS Apache RTR 160 4V with revised race-inspired graphics. The touch-start system on the motorcycle has also been improved to make it more appealing to the customers while offering all-new aerodynamic claw-shaped rear-view mirrors.
Mechanically, the updated model is powered by a 159.7cc, oil-cooled, single-cylinder BS6 engine that churns out 16.02HP of maximum power at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 14.12Nm at 7250rpm. The engine of the bike comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
The BS4 version of the motorcycle, on the other hand, was good for 16.8HP of power and 14.8Nm of utmost torque. The customers can further avail the 2020 BS6 model of the RTR 160 4V in Racing Red, Metallic Blue, and Knight Black colours.
