BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 Launched in India @ INR 1.01 Lakh

The BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 has been officially launched in India at a price tag of INR 1.01 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated motorcycle variant has been listed on the brand’s official website and is expected to take the racing dynamics to an all-new level.

The brand has equipped the motorcycle with a Race-Tuned Fuel Injection technology that has optimised the performance of the motorcycle to an all-new degree. The updated motorcycle will now be available to the customers in four colour schemes namely Pearl White, Gloss Black, Matte Blue and T-Grey, which have been carried forward from its BS4 avatar while the brand has officially discontinued the Matte Red colour variant of the motorcycle that was available in the last-gen version.

Coming to the changes imparted to the BS6-compliant variant, the updated motorcycle features almost identical design language as well as the graphic details. The brand has further offered the motorcycle with an oil-cooled engine that makes the engine produce less heat when compared to the air-cooled unit.

In addition to this, the revised engine has further reduced the vibrations on the updated machine while the exhaust sound is now more refined. Coming to the semi-digital instrument console, the BS6 TVS Apache RTR 180 now features an engine malfunction indicator which turns on whenever the engine suffers any kind of fault.

In addition to this, the brand has offered the motorcycle with a side stand engine cut off switch which prevents the rider from starting the engine whenever the side stand is down. The brand has further removed the kick equipped on the BS4 variant of the motorcycle.

Powering the motorcycle is a BS6-compliant 180cc, oil-cooled engine that is now capable of offering maximum power of 16.8HP and a peak torque of 15.5Nm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The power value of the motorcycle has been increased by 0.2HP when compared to the 16.6HP of maximum power offered by its BS4 counterpart though the torque figure remains the same.

The addition of a BS6-compliant engine is further expected to offer better mileage when compared to one offered by the BS4 unit though the top speed is expected to remain the same at 124 kmph. The recently launched BS6 Apache RTR 180 will compete in the market with the likes of Bajaj Pulsar 180F.
