Goodbye 2-Channel ABS: TVS Apache RTR 180 Gets 1-Channel Unit

TVS Apache RTR 180 with 1-channel ABS is now officially available in India for INR 91,409. The motorcycle was earlier tagged as the only bike that brought dual channel ABS under INR 1 lakh but now, the Indian market has no model that uses the advanced ABS version under this price bracket. The prices for non-ABS models were untouched as they won’t be on sale from April 1, 2019. The new ABS unit is shared among Apache 160, Apache 180 and Apache 160 4V while the bigger Apache models named RR310 and RTR200 can be had with dual channel ABS unit. Both these models are priced well above INR 2 lakh and 1 lakh respectively. How do I know that ABS is working in TVS Apache RTR 180 ABS?

The ABS can be switched on or off on the TVS Apache RTR 180. The switch is located on the left-hand side grip and you can see the light clearing the state of ABS in the instrument console. You can try braking at moderate speeds with the ABS switch on and then with it off to know the difference. The best part of the ABS-powered brakes is that before applying hard, you don't have to think twice about it.

Which one is good - Pulsar 220F or Apache RTR 180?

TVS Apache RTR 180 is a better option when considering with Bajaj pulsar 220F. The Apache comes with more safety as it gets a double channel ABS enabled version for the same price as a standard Pulsar 220F. The Apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177.4 cc engine producing 17.3 BHP @ 8500 rpm and 15.5 NM @ 6500 rpm. The bike gets a 5-speed gearbox and comes with a 139 kg body weight. The Pulsar on the other hand uses a bigger 220 cc engine producing more power but on the same time having 150 kg of body weight. This makes the Apache a better ride when compared in terms of safety and mileage. It comes with a price tag of INR 87,282 for the ABS version and INR 77,574 for the normal version.
Why the handle of TVS Apache RTR 180 shakes @ 60-70 kmph?
2022-12-29 05:53:38 AM
The TVS Apache RTR 180 can ride smoothly at 100 kmph and it is not the nature of Apache as it is a reliable machine. The reason for the same can be excessive air in the front wheel, which makes the tyre more inflated than required, which results in lesser traction. If this is not the error, you can check your wheel for certain damage, which inturn effects the rotation of the wheel. If the tyre is all correct you should check whether the screws tightening the handlebar are tightened and the seals holding the handlebar are fixed. At last you should check whether both the telescopic forks are filled with equal oil as leaking of the oil from one side effects the stability of the bike.
