TVS Apache RTR 310 could become a reality for the Indian fans, helping many reunite with their favourite brand through the introduction of a premium option placed under INR 2 lakh (ex-showroom). According to a report published by Autocar Professional, a new TVS-BMW product will be launched in the Indian market in the coming months.
There are high chances that the brand will showcase a production-ready prototype by the end of this year. Those thinking why Apache RTR 310 and not an adventure tourer first, the reason is that TVS Motor is struggling to sell the RR 310 in good numbers and that makes a streetfighter the obvious choice to push the sales in the 300cc premium motorcycle segment.
Moreover, an adventure tourer from the brand will cost almost equal to the price of the RR 310. On the other hand, a streetfighter will lose a lot of components and keep the cost under check for the motorcycle maker. BMW may also introduce the G310RR to complete its product portfolio through this partnership.
TVS Apache RTR 310 will share the entire part set up with the BMW G310R as the current-generation Apache RR 310 and G310R just have a different subframe and handlebar. On the other side, the mainframe, engine, exhaust, fuel tank, suspension, and even the braking system remain identical.
TVS Apache RTR 310 will have a G310R-sourced subframe bolted on the body that will bring down the rear seat height for easy everyday use. Also, the clip-on handlebar could be replaced with a standard handlebar to achieve a relaxed sitting posture.
As research and development cost for the product will be restricted, getting even INR 1.89 lakh as the ex-showroom price tag is possible. The TVS Draken concept-inspired front fascia can be the best bet for the brand as fan-following for the concept is the highest ever for a TVS streetfighter design showcased at the Auto Expo.
