TVS Apache RTR 310 (TVS Akula) Spied Testing on the Dyno

TVS Apache RTR 310 was recently spotted on a dyno test. The recent reports regarding its launch hints at an official entry in July 2017. The motorcycle was first seen on Auto Expo 2016 in a pure concept form. It was named Akula 310 and shared most of its parts with the upcoming BMW G310R. The motorcycle that was spotted recently carried Matt Black body shade. The body had no decals while its unique tail light can be seen clearly on one of the images. Apache RTR 310 is actually an assumed name for the production motorcycle while company has not clarified its official name yet. The model that was recently spotted on the dyno test carries Michelin tyres, hinting at the use of premium components in its build. The headlamps use LED lights and carry one of the most impressive design around the segment.

TVS is manufacturing the G310R for BMW in its plant in Chennai. The parts for BMW G310R are being manufactured by TVS and both will share some of them in their bikes. TVS Akula will use the same engine, exhaust, suspension and non-visible components with G310R. The engine tune is not yet disclosed but most probably, it will stay the same as G310R. The parts that were showcased at Auto Expo 2016 were built out of carbon fiber while production version will gain weight through plastic parts.

The bike looks huge and carries impressive list of equipment like petal disc brakes, sport spec rear mono-shock, optional ABS, USD front forks, LED lights and fully digital instrument console. Akula 310 is powered by a 313 cc, single cylinder engine that is good for 33.6 BHP at 9500 rpm and 28 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox and could claim around 150 kmph of top speed. It could be priced around INR 1.60-1.75 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
