TVS Jupiter, rivaling the mighty Honda Activa in the Indian scooter market, has packed some muscle before the festive season. TVS Jupiter Grande Edition is an example of perfection for the scooter market, with the popular scooter getting itself loads of equipment and special body shade to gain more buyers through exclusivity. It has been priced at INR 55,936 for the drum brake variant and INR 59,648 for the disc brake variant. Both prices are ex-showroom Delhi. The first batch of Jupiter Grande has reached the dealerships. The limited period model comes with beige panel finish, diamond stitched tan leather seat and Grande #1 JD Power moniker on the front body.
The front fender features a chrome highlight, similar to the piece seen on the Jupiter Classic. The addition of LED headlight and semi-digital instrument console made the package even more valuable for Indian buyers. They are offering an analog speedometer with rest all information on the digital display. TVS Jupiter is powered by a 109.7cc, single-cylinder engine, producing 8 BHP at 7500 rpm and 8 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox. Carrying features like telescopic forks and gas charged monoshock makes it truly comfortable for most conditions.
The rise in pricing for products is really intense as the base variant of Jupiter costs INR 51,488 in New Delhi. The ZX variant, not even equipped with a disc brake, carries a price tag of INR 54,436. The addition of disc brake costs almost INR 2000 over this variant. The most expensive Jupiter variant is Classic Edition, carrying a price tag of INR 57,468 in India. That equates to INR 6000 of more ex-showroom price than the basic variant. The base variant of Jupiter comes with LED tail light and black inner body panels. Rivals in the Indian market include Hero Maestro Edge, Honda Activa, Suzuki Lets and Yamaha Ray ZR.
Commenting on this launch, Mr. Aniruddha Haldar, Vice President (Marketing) – Commuter Motorcycles, Scooters & Corporate Brand, TVS Motor Company, said:
