TVS Motor has officially launched the Radeon special edition in the Indian market. The customers can avail the motorcycle in two variants namely drum brake variant and a front disc brake variant, available at INR 52,720 and INR 54,820 respectively. The drum brake model of the motorcycle’s special edition variant gets a premium of INR 1900 when compared to the standard drum brake variant of the TVS Radeon.
TVS has specifically rolled out the special edition variant of the motorcycle to celebrate the brand’s achievement of witnessing over two lakh customers of the Radeon. Apart from the addition of a disc brake variant, the celebratory edition remains mechanically unaltered. Differentiating the standard and the special edition model is the presence of various cosmetic changes.
The TVS Radeon celebratory special edition features a redesigned petrol tank pad with an ‘R’ emblem as well as redesigned metallic brake and clutch levers. The motorcycle gets chrome-finished rearview mirrors while the thigh pad design has also been updated to add to its new appeal. The motorcycle further features various new decals on the body panels in addition to chrome detailing.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 109.7cc, air-cooled, carbureted engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 8.4HP and a peak torque of 8.7Nm. The engine is further mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The suspension duties on the special edition motorcycle are handled by the same telescopic forks at the front while the rear features dual shock absorbers.
The motorcycle gets 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels while the kerb weight scales at 112 kgs. The TVS Radeon special edition motorcycle competes in the market with the likes of Hero Splendor Plus, Honda CD 110 Dream, TVS Star City Plus, and the Bajaj the Platina 110.
