TVS Ronin Official Photos Leaked Ahead of Launch on 6th July

Contrary to popular belief, a 125cc runabout rather than a 200cc engine might power TVS’ upcoming neo-classic cruiser. A pair of images of the TVS Ronin 125, which will be unveiled on July 6th, has leaked online. Shreyas Sreedhar discovered TVS Ronin 125 images on the official TVS website. While the exact displacement has yet to be revealed, the images show a compact air-cooled single-cylinder motor. According to recent reports, it is a 125cc mill. The upcoming TVS Ronin 125 will most likely be based on the recently launched Raider 125.

TVS Ronin 125 has a neo-classic body style that is a hybrid of a traditional low-slung cruiser and a rugged scrambler. The bodywork features a slim fuel tank with prominent knee indents, vintage side panels, and no tailpiece. Dual-tone colour scheme, as well as the black engine and wheels, add to the motorcycle’s visual appeal.

Despite its small engine, the Ronin announces itself as a premium player with its sturdy gold-finished inverted telescopic front forks, alloy wheels, thick tyres, and a full LED headlamp with a T-shaped LED daytime running light. The motorcycle has a single round instrument cluster, as well as LED turn indicators. We believe it is a fully-digital unit with mobile phone connectivity and the TVS SmartXonnect system.

Other notable features include the brown saddle, chunky exhaust canister, and front and rear disc brakes. The Zeppelin cruiser concept, which debuted at the 2018 Auto Expo, inspires the 125 cc TVS Ronin, the latest TVS 125cc motorcycle, but there are significant differences. For example, the concept used a liquid-cooled motor, spoke wheels, and a full-fledged tailpiece, all of which are absent from the production-spec model.

To save money, we believe TVS will opt for a combined braking system rather than ABS. The premium 125cc segment in our market is underserved, and TVS hopes to fill that void with the Ronin 125. The level of equipment suggests that they could price the motorcycle around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom). While this is a high price for a 125cc bike, it is significantly less than its potential rival, the KTM Duke 125.
