TVS Srichakra Launches New Eurogrip Tyre Brand in India

TVS Srichakra Ltd recently unveiled its new tyre brand, the TVS Eurogrip. The brand will be focused on meeting the needs of a wide range of customers. The company also unboxed the brand’s identity and its logo. TVS Tyres is India’s supreme two-wheeler and three-wheeler tyre manufacturer and is a part of the country’s most diversified conglomerate TVS Group.

Under the new brand, TVS Eurogrip, the company rolled out a total of 19 brand new tyres that also include the zero-degree steel-belted radial tyres. These 19 tyres will be manufactured at the two plants under the TVS Srichakra and will be used for vehicles ranging between 70cc mopeds to 500cc superbikes.

The Director of the TVS Srichakra, P. Vijayaraghavan said in an interview, “India will remain a promising market for two-wheelers and we see tremendous growth opportunity… TVS Eurogrip will cater to the needs and requirements of the new-age Indian rider.”

The Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, P Madhavan said that in the coming six months of the brand, it may get merged with the existing parent brand TVS Tyres. He also notified that a Research and Development centre had been set up in Milan some 7 to 8 months before. It had recruited officials to have a better understanding of the international trends that the tyres have been following around the world.

The company has been dealing with the current slowdown with the help of aftermarket sales and export. In an official statement, the company’s President, P. Srinivasavaradhan said, “Our OEM sales have been coming down in line with the slowdown in the automobile sector. However, aftermarket sale is steadily climbing. Exports are also growing rapidly. As far as exports are concerned, we are planning to enter new geographies and expand in existing geographies.”

Reacting on the current slowdown, he said that the tyre industry has not been impacted as much as the OEMs and called it a ‘temporary phase’.
