TVS Motor has officially unveiled a retro-fitment kit for its popular XL100 range of mopeds. The kit has been introduced by the company at a price tag of INR 11,237 and it has also received a certification from the ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India). This well-designed retro-fitment kit has been developed for the differently-abled and senior citizen motorcyclists.
Through the launch of the kit, the company has tried to make commuting of two-wheelers for differently-abled buyers a lot better and safer. The kit is currently available only for the XL100 moped model range with respect to the company’s product portfolio. It has been developed and manufactured in-house by the brand and it works in combination with six mounting points for a secure fit.
The fenders of the moped have been provided to cover the additional wheel which has been made from 16-inch gauge sheet metal whereas a solid frame structure has been provided to ensure better control and stability. The retro-fitment kit features a light-weight design that promises better performance than the already existing kits in the market.
The four Armstrong suspension units ensure a smooth ride even in case of a bad road. The kit also has space for walking sticks and crutches. Although the kit is currently available only for XL100 mopeds yet it can be expected that the brand will bring similar kits for other products in its portfolio in the near future.
The currently-retailing generation of the TVS XL100 is available in three variants that include the Standard, the Comfort, and the Heavy Duty. The mopeds are powered by a 99.7cc air-cooled petrol engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 4.3bhp and a peak torque of 6.5Nm. The engine delivers its performance by working in combination with a single-speed transmission.
