TVS Zeppelin is one of the most anticipated motorcycles from the brand that was initially unveiled as a concept at the Auto Expo 2018. After several delays, the earlier reports suggested the brand to launch the Zeppelin 220 cruiser motorcycle in the year 2020 though there has been no information received on the same.
TVS Motor had officially backed out of the Auto Expo 2020 where the brand usually reveals some of its exciting concepts as well as the anticipated production variants. As per the current status, the launch of the Zeppelin now seems to be rather uncertain.
Some recent reports suggest that the brand might launch the motorcycle around mid-2020 though there has been no official confirmation as of yet. It is also being rumoured that TVS may also shelve the plans of launching the cruiser in the Indian market.
Powering the TVS Zeppelin concept is an RTR 200-inspired 220cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is good for a maximum power of 20HP @ 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 18.5Nm @ 7000 rpm. The engine is mated a 5-speed gearbox.
If launched in the production state, the TVS Zeppelin is expected to feature a BS6-compliant engine while offering powerful performance and getting a price tag of around INR 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
In terms of looks, the TVS Zeppelin cruiser features a bulkier fuel tank design which is further accompanied by the clip-on handlebars while all other body panels have been equipped with premium plastic cladding.
The brand showcased the Zeppelin 220 cruiser motorcycle with Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) with assist motor and an HD camera back in 2018 though the production variant (if launched) is expected to skip on the rather premium bits to keep the costs under check.
