Ultraviolette Automotive is a Bengaluru-based brand that is committed to delivering design, technology and user experience and the company’s sole motive is to redefine mobility. Back in 2019, the brand unboxed its much-anticipated product – the F77 electric motorcycle. The company claims the bike to be “designed for an electric future” as it is India’s first performance-based electric motorcycle. Here are 7 must-know facts about the F77 sportbike:

1) Futuristic Looks – Towards the front end, the bike has a full-LED headlamp which has been teamed with the Ultraviollete’s V-shaped LED DRL. The front fender of the motorcycle gets contrast decals and the motorcycle also has red pinstripes on the alloy wheels. The F77 has typical switchgear whereas the bar-end weights have been finished in red.
The bike comes packed with many high-end features like it has a coloured TFT instrument cluster while the brand has also equipped the bike with a protector around the brake lever. The covering of the battery has been neatly done and the bike features a sportbike look with a fully-fairing design.
2) Informative Console – F77 sportbike has an intelligent interface that includes customisable performance profiles, error reporting via Ultraviolette’s smartphone app and for ride analytics, the bike has 9-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) with a built-in accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, and Sensor Fusion technology. The active tracking and efficiency mapping that is present across the vehicle enables temperature, voltage and current sensors.
3) Impressive Performance – TheUltraviolette F77 sportbike takes just 2.9 seconds in order to accelerate from 0-60km/h whereas it takes 7.5 seconds to go up to 100km/h from a standstill. According to the brand, the electric vehicle is capable of attaining a maximum speed of 147km/h. When the bike is packed with all three batteries, then on a single charge it is capable to deliver a total range of 130-150kms.
4) Premium Components – The F77 features a steel trellis frame with an aluminium head suspended on USD front forks while the rear-end is equipped with a pre-load adjustable monoshock. In terms of safety, the bike is packed with a 320mm front disc, a 230mm rear disc, both of them mated to dual-channel ABS as standard.
Towards the front, the premium electric motorcycle has fixed 4 radial pistons whereas towards the rear end there is a single-piston floating calliper. In order to fulfil its performance-oriented intentions, it has steel-braided brake lines with a 110/70-R17 front tyre and a 150/60-R17 rear tyre.
5) Impressive Torque – The Ultraviolette F77 electric motorcycle is powered by an air-cooled brushless DC (BLDC) motor that is capable to provide an astonishing power-to-weight ratio. The motor generates an output of 25kW (33.5hp) with a massive torque rating of 90Nm at the motor and 450Nm at the rear wheel. The bike comes with three riding modes – Eco, Sport, and Insane.
Talking about the battery, the bike has a slim and modular lithium-ion battery pack, which can be charged fully in 5 hours from a standard charger whereas a portable fast charger allows the rider to charge from 0-80 per cent in just 50 minutes and a full charge in 90 minutes. The battery pack has 7 international patents which have been built with rugged shockproof covering and IP67-rated connectors.
6) Variants and Colours – The Ultraviolette F77 is available in three variants namely Airstrike (Lightning Silver), Shadow (Stealth Grey), and Laser (Crimson Red). The bike is quite light in weight as the kerb weight stands at 158kg. When it comes to comfort, the bike has an accessible seat height of 800mm.
7) Price and Availability – The price of the Ultraviolette F77 ranges between INR 3 Lakh to INR 3.25 lakh (on-road) while the deliveries of the bike are expected to start in the coming months. For now, the electric motorcycle is available only in Bengaluru.
