3 New 300cc UM Renegade Motorcycles are Coming: UM India’s recent plans for a new 230cc motorcycle will not be their only move for a tempting market share of this segment. They are planning to develop a BS4 compliant, carburetor fed assembly for their present generation 279.5cc engine, resulting in three new 300cc UM Renegade Motorcycles named Commando Iron 300, Commando 300 LX and Vegas 300..
Fans would remember the first launch event where both the launched bikes were introduced with a carburetor. They are reversing their action of bringing fuel injection till BS6 emission norms come into action in 2020. Resulting change of almost INR 10,000 and other cost cutting measures will help them bring back the starting range down to INR 1.20 lakh (through Duty 230).
Also, the best looking UM Renegade Commando will start feeling more in line with rival Royal Enfield bikes. They recently researched the market and got to know that their products are placed at a much higher point than buyers generally want to see. Also, new variants will add freshness to the limited 4 product lineup.

This is an important feedback as their sales growth plan won’t work without understanding the need of majority of riders. Even if they get their products close to the on-road price of Royal Enfield Classic 350, increase in sales will be pretty visible.
Ease of finance will further help buyers get into the UM pride with ease. UM Classic is presently priced at INR 1,95,499. It is one accessory loaded model with different styling and unique front fascia. The range presently starts with Sports S at INR 1,59,652.
They have maintained an INR 35,000 worth of gap between these products but unfortunately, all of them are based on the same frame with same drive-train and even identical spares under their sculpted bodies.
At INR 1.76 lakh and INR 1.95 lakh (ex-showroom), Renegade Commando and Classic requires a lot more price deduction than any other model on sale in entire Indian motorcycle market. All four will get their Indian official unveil at Auto Expo 2018.
