UM Renegade Commando Black Cat was silently introduced in India. The motorcycle is completely black, leaving just the engine casing in a brown shade for a decent contrast. The existing shades, Matt Moss Green, Black Shine and Burgundy Shine, are also available alongside the newly launched color.
A carburetor fed version of Sports S is now also available. UM has not listed the affordable version on its official website till date. The changes seen on Black Cat are totally visual as every part of the motorcycle is painted matt black to achieve a premium look and bold stance.
The engine powering Commando remains the same 279.5cc, single cylinder engine, producing 25.15PS at 8500 rpm and 23Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motorcycle comes with black finished front headlight casing, suspension components, spoke rims, side panels, rear backrest, and exhaust.
UM Renegade Commando comes with a typical cruiser stance with an extended wheelbase, front-biased foot-pegs, comfortable seating, and relaxed handlebar. They even offer a retro-inspired front headlight design with a flat panel at its back.
The motorcycle measures 2257mm in length, 780mm in width and 1140mm in height. The low seat height and impressive 200mm of ground clearance help the owner stay stress-free all the time. The motorcycle comes with a semi-digital instrument console, 18-liter fuel tank, and front 280mm disc brake.
A cruiser specific 110/90-16 front and 140/90-15 rear tire help the Commando claim a unique stance. The motorcycle weighs just 179kg for the Fi version. UM is planning to introduce the more affordable Renegade Duty S and Duty Ace in India.
The carburetor fed engine on Sports S is also good for an equal amount of power output. It was earlier available in India but BS4 emission norms led to the use of fuel injected versions. It seems like UM has tuned their carburetor setup for a cleaner output and cost-effective placement. At present, UM Renegade Commando is priced @ INR 1.82 Lakh (Ex-showroom Delhi).
