RX 135 Cafe Racer by Grewal Customs: This Yamaha RX 135 by Grewal Custom Motorcycles is one fine example of vintage love through minimalistic body components. Not everyone is aware of the fact that these machines are quicker than what Yamaha makes today.

They were lighter and due to lesser restrictions on fuel usage and emissions, they performed like pocket rockets all over the Indian streets. This typical RX 135 has gained cafe racer aesthetics as one could spot that ribbed single seat with a slim rear panel for impressive streamlined look. More than that, the fuel tank enters a league of its own with elegant design and sticker free gloss black finish.

Grewal Customs have used a retro round headlight at front while suspension at both ends stay stock and pretty basic. Apart from some typical cruisers and everyday commuters, these twin rear shock setup is presently missing from majority of street and sport bikes.

Front fender was given a voluntary miss while they could have used a chopped off version for mud protection on Indian roads. The engine is a gem here as one could see the restored unit shining proudly through the black and chrome finish.They are even using an updated set of tyres at both ends for better grip levels. Grewal Customs also added a front disc to improve the overall braking capabilities of the bike.

As Yamaha RX 135 was never a meant for tight riding position, Grewal Customs have reversed the effect through use of clip-on inspired short length handlebar. Instrument console goes missing from the setup as it would have not matched the impressive built from any angle.

Yamaha RX 135 is powered by a 132cc, single cylinder engine producing 14 BHP and 12.25 Nm of torque. The engine was offered with 4 as well as 5 speed gearbox option in its era. Claimed top speed was well above 100 kmph, resulting in a similar performance that present day 150cc bikes deliver. This must be the neatest ever RX 135 for sure.
