2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 Sports Bike Officially Revealed

The 2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 has been recently unveiled in the Malaysian markets at a price tag of Rm 19,998 (INR 3.43 lakhs approx). The updated motorcycle will now be available to the customers in two new colour schemes namely Matt Blue and Matt Silver.

The motorcycle has been equipped with Yamaha’s YZR-M1 MotoGP inspired look while the addition of LED headlights further imparts it with the typical R-series outlook. The all-new matt silver paint scheme offered to the updated motorcycle is inspired from the Yamaha M1 Fiat Estoril Edition which features rims adorned with black accents while the overall body profile has been imparted a silver colour.

The matt blue colour on the 2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 gets grey accents on the front fender as well as on the side fairing. In addition to this, the rear section of the motorcycle has been imparted the similar grey detailing.

Apart from the addition of two new colour schemes with revised graphics, the updated motorcycle remains mechanically unaltered. Powering the motorcycle is a 249cc, twin-cylinder engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 35.5 HP @ 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.6 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The suspension duties continue to be handled by USD forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit.

The chances of the launch of the 2020 Yamaha YZF-R25 in the Indian market remains impossible to date while the brand is expected to launch the bigger YZF-R3 in India later this year. Once launched in India, the updated Yamaha R3 will compete in the market with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and TVS Apache RR 310.
