Yamaha Motor has officially launched the 2021 MT-25 First Edition in Malaysia with a price tag of RM 21,500 (INR 3.81 lakh, approximate, direct conversion). Based on the new model of Yamaha MT-03, the MT-25 First Edition features edgy and modern looks. Some of the key design highlights include an LED taillight, a projector headlight with LED DRLs, an all-digital instrument console, a muscular fuel tank, a step-up seat, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and a stylish engine cowl. The 2021 Yamaha MT-25 First Edition will be available in the Malaysian markets in two colours namely Ice Fluo and Yamaha Blue.
Mechanically, the streetfighter is powered by a 249cc, 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine, which is good for a maximum power of 35.1 HP @ 12,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 22.6 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox as standard.
Coming to the hardware components, the bike is equipped with USD (Upside Down) front forks and a monoshock rear suspension. The braking performance of the bike is handled by a 298mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. Yamaha has equipped the 2021 MT-25 with a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.
The naked motorcycle is equipped with a 110/70-R17 tyre at the front end while the rear end features a wide 140/70-R17 tyre. Yamaha won’t be launching the MT-25 in India as we will be getting the MT-03 and the new model of YZF-R3 by the end of this year or in early 2021.
