2023 Yamaha FZ150 India Launch Possible – Official Photos and Details

Yamaha recently introduced the facelifted FZ 15 as the 2023 model in the Brazilian market, with prices starting at 16,990 Brazilian Real (Rs. 2.66 lakhs, direct conversion). The all-new facelift model could be released in India soon.

The new projector headlight, which resembles the FZ25, is visible at first glance. The front visor appears to be new, and the rear tyre hugger has been removed. Everything else appears to be the same as the FZ-S FI that Yamaha sells in India, even the RVMs and indicators are identical.

However, there are some mechanical changes that Yamaha has adorned the facelift model with. The overall length has increased by 10mm, owing primarily to the new headlight configuration. Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres are fitted to the front and rear of the bike and the ground clearance has increased by 5mm.

The fuel tank capacity has been reduced from 13 litres to 11.9 litres. While Yamaha has kept the same 149cc fuel-injected engine, the output is now even lower, and the engine will run on both gasoline and ethanol. Though the power output remains the same at 12.2 HP in petrol mode, it arrives a little later at 7500 RPM, up from 7250 RPM. The torque has been reduced to 12.7 Nm from 13.3 Nm and arrives late at 6000 RPM, up from 5500 RPM.

While the cluster appears to be identical, the distinguishing lights are positioned differently. Yamaha offers the facelift  FZ 15 in three new colours: Racing Blue, Magma Red and Midnight Black.

Yamaha is expected to charge a premium for the projector setup when it is released in India. However, the company is unlikely to provide the lovely Pirelli tyres. Given the popularity of the FZ here, this new model should sell like hotcakes.
