The BS6 2020 Yamaha MT-15 has been officially launched in India with a starting price tag of INR 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated version of the motorcycle is priced INR 2,900 higher in comparison to the price tag of the BS4 variant, which is available for INR 1.36 lakh till the stock lasts.
Coming to the major updates, the brand has offered the updated model of the MT-15 with a new ‘Ice Fluo Vermillion’ colour scheme which is a combination of icy white body panels with neon orange alloy wheels. In addition to this, the “Dark Matt Blue” and “Metallic Black” colour options have been retained from the BS4-compliant variant of the motorcycle. Here is the colour-wise price list of the BS6 2020 Yamaha MT-15:
- Metallic Black – INR 1,38,900
- Dark Matte Blue – INR 1,38,900
- Ice Fluo Vermillion – INR 1,39,400
The next-gen variant of the MT-15 has been further equipped with a side-stand engine cut-off switch which prevents the motorcycle to start whenever the side stand is down. In addition to this, the tail light position has also been revised and has been raised a little bit when compared to the last-gen model. The brand has also equipped the BS6 2020 Yamaha MT-15 with a wide radial tyre at the rear. Apart from these changes, the motorcycle remains cosmetically unaltered.
Yamaha has also revealed the technical specifications of the updated MT-15. It is powered by a BS6-compliant 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 18.5HP @ 10,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.9Nm @ 8,500 rpm. In comparison, the BS4 variant of the MT-15 is good for 19.3HP of maximum power along with an utmost torque of 14.7Nm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The suspension duties on the motorcycle continue to be handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit. Like the BS4 model, the BS6 2020 Yamaha MT-15 features disc brakes at either end mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
