BS6 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 India Launch Details: The BS6 2020 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 were revealed by the brand back on February 4, 2020. The 250cc motorcycles were expected to launch in India in April but the launch got delayed due to the Coronavirus lockdown. Yamaha recently listed the BS6 FZ25 and FZS25 on its official website and the brand has revealed that the official launch will take place post the coronavirus lockdown period.
The brand has equipped the upcoming 250cc motorcycles with an all-new LED headlight unit with a bi-functional technology. The BS6 model has been further equipped with a side-stand engine cut-off switch that prevents the rider from starting the motorcycle if the side stand is down. In addition to this, the BS6 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 have been equipped with an updated instrument console with a negative LCD.
Mechanically, the bikes are powered by the similar 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is now BS6-compliant and is capable of offering maximum power of 20.8 HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 20.1 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In comparison to the BS4 model, the power has reduced by 0.1 HP while the torque has been increased by 0.1 Nm.
The braking department is handled by disc brakes at either side mated to dual-channel ABS as before. The suspension setup includes the similar telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a monoshock unit.
In terms of pricing, one can expect the FZ 25 standard variant to be priced around INR 1.38-1.40 lakh while the 2020 Yamaha FZS 25 is expected to get a premium of around INR 3,000 over the price tag of the standard variant.
