Update 2: Yamaha Officially Releases Teaser Images of the Upcoming Motorcycle (Most Probably FZ250) Update 1: Yamaha's authorised dealerships have started accepting bookings for the all-new upcoming FZ250 naked street motorcycle with a token amount of INR 10,000. All-New Yamaha FZ250 is expected to be launched officially in India on January 24. Update Source Original Post: Yamaha Motors India has officially released a teaser image for the launch event for an unknown motorcycle on 24 January 2017. They call it a new chapter, hinting that the book is already available in India. Here chapter is a variant while the book refers to a series (FZ, R, MT) of motorcycle. The mystery motorcycle is most probably the recently spotted naked street bike, fascinatingly being called FZ25 (FZ250)before the official launch describes its real name. The quarter liter machine can be placed above the current FZ series, adding one more chapter to the book that already contains FZ16, FZ Fi and FZ-S.Yamaha all-set to Launch the FZ250 on January 24
The previous report hinted at a launch date of 15 January while this time, the date has been confirmed by various sources as it has even been mentioned on the official invite from Yamaha India. The engine of motorcycle on test actually shows similarities with the engine available on the Brazil spec Fazer 250. This makes the bike good for 20.7 PS and 20.4 Nm of maximum torque. But for India, it is expected that Yamaha might tune the engine to generate better power and torque figures to compete with other bikes in India in this segment. Indian-spec FZ25 might generate around 25-26 PS of maximum power with 23-24 NM of maximum torque. The bike will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox and flaunts its FZ style tank shroud that looks quite massive from the one used on FZ16. If everything stays the same as seen currently, the bike could share a lot of parts with the India spec FZ series, placing it on an impressive price slab. Since, FZ series do not have a rear disc brake, this one can borrow the remaining components from the Yamaha R15, which will definitely include 6-speed gearbox and disc brake. Keeping its own identity alive, Yamaha FZ25 uses full LED headlamps, a smart looking exhaust system and brand new alloy wheel design. It may use the same tyres as the current FZ series, cutting the costs on nearly every possible component.
