New Yamaha FZ25 Starts Reaching Dealerships: Yamaha recently launched the BS6-compliant model of the FZ25 in the Indian markets with a price tag of INR 1.52 lakhs (ex-showroom). The updated 250cc motorcycle has started reaching dealerships across the country while the deliveries are expected to commence very soon. In addition to the FZ25, Yamaha has also launched the FZS25 with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.57 lakhs but it will go on sale at a later stage. Here are the live photos of the new Yamaha FZ25 shared by SP Motors (Instagram):
Powering the Yamaha FZ25 series is the same 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air+oil cooled engine that is now BS6-compliant and capable of generating maximum power of 20.8 HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 20.1 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine remains mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In comparison to the BS4 model, the updated version generates 0.1 HP less power and 0.1 Nm more torque.
The kerb weight of the FZS25 stands at 154kg which makes it 1kg heavier than the standard FZ25 variant while the brand has equipped the former with touring-oriented features like knuckle guards, large wind visor at the front, contrast alloy wheels setup as well as a rather funky colour palette. In addition to that, the 2020 Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 feature a negative LCD display for the instrument console, an underbelly cowl and a side-stand engine cut-off switch.
Coming to the hardware, both the Yamaha FZ25 and FZS25 have been equipped with disc brakes at either side mated to a dual-channel ABS unit as standard. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear.
The Yamaha FZS 25 will be available to the customers in three colour schemes namely White-Vermillion, Dark Matte Blue, and Patina Green, while the standard FZ25 is available in two shades: Racing Blue and Metallic Black. The white colour variant of the FZS25 features black alloy wheels setup while the Blue and Green shades have been imparted with golden alloy wheels.
