According to a recent report by Zigwheels & Overdrive, Yamaha FZ250 has been spotted on the Indian roads, most probably pursuing its testing phase and heading towards a launch in the country. The motorcycle is expected to carry a price tag of around INR 1.5 lakh and may appear publicly in the first half of 2017. The rear half section of the motorcycle looks much in tune with the current FZ series while its front half hints at bolder, even more tempting fairing than ever.
Upcoming Yamaha FZ250 Spied Testing in India
The engine is expected to stay the same as FZ 250 from the Brazilian market, producing 20.7 PS and 20.4 Nm of torque. The engine is fuel injected and comes with oil cooling, making it BS4 compliant and saving a lot of money on the R&D side. But the power and torque values are way too low in comparison to Honda CBR250R and Benelli TNT 25, which means that Yamaha might update the engine to generate more power and torque. The images further clears that it will be carrying conventional front forks, non ABS disc brakes and a comfortable seating position.
The front headlight is LED while the side profile reveals that it would carrying a nice looking exhaust can and an independent tyre hugger. It will share few components with the Indian FZ series, most probably its seats and grab rail, handlebar, suspension components and many more. It will carry a different instrument console and definitely bigger brakes and thicker tyres. If it is completely manufactured in Chennai, it would be one of the best 250cc naked motorcycles to buy in India.
