Yamaha Aerox 155 was recently spotted at a dealership in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. According to the dealer (Vaishnavi Automobile), the scooter is not for sale and it has been specially imported from Indonesia to put on display at the showroom. Yamaha Aerox was officially unveiled in 2016 and the 155cc scooter currently sells in select markets around the globe.
Calling it the scooter version of R15 V3 won’t be wrong as it shares the same VVA engine. The 155.1cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine on the scooter is good for 14.8 BHP at 8,000 rpm and 14.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine is available in this de-tuned state for scooter friendly dynamics.
Yamaha launched the R15 V3 and 2018 model of R3 in India @ Auto Expo 2018. As of now, Yamaha has not made any official announcement regarding the launch of Aerox in India. Aerox is one of the most-awaited products in India and we hope the brand brings it here in coming months.
Yamaha is presently gaining traction through commuter centric products and scooters as introducing new products has helped them retain the number five spot in terms of sale number in India. If launched in India, Aerox 155 is expected to demand something close to INR 80,000-90,000 (ex-showroom).
