Yamaha FZ-X 150 Specifications Leaked: Recently, a mysterious Yamaha bike was spotted testing in India on the Yamuna Expressway. Earlier, it was expected to be the XSR155 or the bigger XSR250 but, as per a leaked Type Approval Certificate that has surfaced online, the upcoming motorcycle is actually a 149cc motorcycle and it is expected to be launched in the Indian markets as FZ-X 150.
According to the leaked details, the Yamaha FZ-X 150 measures 2,020mm in length, 785mm in width, 1,115mm in height while the wheelbase of the motorcycle stands at 1,330mm. The gross vehicle weight (GVW) of the upcoming bike is 289 kg.
Coming to the technical specifications, FZ-X is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable to generate a maximum power figure of 12.2 BHP @ 7,250 rpm. Since it’s the same engine that powers the FZ V3 and the FZS V3, peak torque is expected to be the same at 13.3 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine will also remain mated to a 5-speed transmission.
The new 150cc Yamaha motorcycle features FZ V3-series like alloy wheels in addition to an XSR155-style fuel tank, exhaust system, fuel tank side panels, and a similar kind of rear tyre hugger. In the spy photos, some of the body parts don’t look production-ready like the headlight, tail light, rear grab rail and seat.
Like the 150cc FZ series, the Yamaha FZ-X 150 will also come equipped with conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear end. The braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at either side which will be further mated to a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
As far as the launch is concerned, the FZ-X 150 is expected to launch in India around the festive season and it is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.10 lakhs to INR 1.20 lakhs.
