Yamaha Hyper Slaz Concept was recently showcased in India at Auto Expo 2018. Most of the times, concept bikes act as a base for future products but here, the process was reversed to achieve a concept out of already existing Yamaha M-Slaz.
It follows the same concept building rules and thus, premium components have been used to make Hyper Slaz as effective as possible. The side hand side of this concept looks quite different from the production variant, all thanks to a unique exhaust system that leaves everything empty on the side. It follows a dark theme and offers Black and Red color combination.
Red has been strategically used on both suspensions, rear seat panel and engine bay components. Front suspension stays USD while rear gets Ohlins fully adjustable unit. Yamaha is using a completely new front headlight section and that further helps Hyper Slaz Concept look mean and exciting.
Both ends are equipped with Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tyres. Hyper Slaz comes built on the same Deltabox frame as Yamaha R15 V2 and stock M-Slaz. The concept also features a camera built into its front fascia. Instrument console seems basic for its profile but may have all required features.
M-Slaz, the production variant for Yamaha Hyper Slaz Concept, is powered by a 149cc, single cylinder engine producing 16.09 BHP and 14.3 Nm of torque. It weighs just 135 kg and claims 130 kmph of impressive top speed. It shares the same exhaust unit as Yamaha R15 in its production form.
It is still not known till date that why Yamaha does not bring this street fighter variant to India, even after sharing majority of parts between both the products. Auto Expo 2018 also brought the most awaited Yamaha R15 Version 3.0 to India for a price tag of INR 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
