2018 Yamaha NMAX 155 ABS Launched in Indonesia @ IDR 30.20 million (INR 1.42 lakh)

2018 model of NMAX 155 has been launched in Indonesia for IDR 26.30 million (INR 1.24 lakh approx). They even introduced Yamaha NMAX 155 ABS in the country for IDR 30.20 million (INR 1.42 lakh approx). For those who are wandering for the 155 moniker on this scooter, guesses are almost pointing in the right direction. NMAX features the same engine as 2018 Yamaha R15 V3 but comes out with a different tune for a scooter specific ride. The 155.1cc, single cylinder with VVA is good for 15 HP at 8000 rpm and 14.4 Nm at 6000 rpm. Indian version, on the other hand, will use conventional forks for effective pricing. 2018 Yamaha NMAX gets twin gas charged shocks for the rear suspension. The golden finished alloy wheels are wrapped with 110 section front and 130 section rear wheel for maximum traction. Yamaha is offering the 2-channel ABS for INR 18,000 (approx) on this Indonesian scooter. That makes it very likely possible for them to offer the same at a lower value in India. The color options on offer includes Matt Black and Matt Grey with Golden alloys, Blue with Black alloys and White with Silver finished wheels. Features as standard includes LED headlight, tubeless tyres and all digital instrument console. It was first launched back in 2015 and within two years, Yamaha sold over 5.6 lakh units of the scooter. Out of these, 1.4 lakh units were from the export section. India may not get the NMAX 155 anytime soon but changing market trends hint at other Yamaha scooters in the near future. Before all of them, Yamaha has planned to launch the R15 V3 in India on January 8, 2018.
