Yamaha XSR250 Spotted Testing in India: In one of the major leaks in recent times, a new 250cc Yamaha motorcycle has been spotted testing on the Indian roads. The spy photos have been clicked on Yamuna Expressway by automotive enthusiast Junaid.

Expected to launch as XSR250, the new 250cc Yamaha motorcycle features FZ250-series alloy wheels in addition to an XSR155-style fuel tank, exhaust system, fuel tank side panels, and a similar kind of rear tyre hugger. Some of the body parts don’t look production-ready like the headlight, tail light, rear grab rail and seat. Here are the spy photos of the Yamaha XSR250:

Mechanically, the Yamaha XSR250 is expected to share a lot of hardware components with the FZ250 like the engine, tyres, alloy wheels, brakes, suspension, and the all-digital instrument console. The upcoming motorcycle is expected to come featured with Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

It would be powered by the same 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air+oil cooled, BS6-compliant engine, which is capable of generating maximum power of 20.8 HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 20.1 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. The engine will also remain mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Yamaha XSR250 will come equipped with conventional telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear end. The braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at either side which will be further mated to a dual-channel ABS unit as standard.

When launched, the XSR250 would be competing with the likes of Bajaj Dominar 250, KTM Duke 250, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, Suzuki Gixxer 250, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250. Yamaha XSR250 is expected to launch in India with an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1.70 lakhs.
