Yamaha R125 is now available across select markets, completely revealed through the popular INTERMOT 2018 platform. The motorcycle is based on the Indonesian spec R15, sharing the same design and frame setup for effective cost-cutting. The model comes with front USD forks and aluminum rear foot-peg holder, different than the components seen on Indian R15 V3. The 124.7cc, single-cylinder engine on R125 is good for 15HP at 9000 rpm and 12.4 Nm at 8000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. The motorcycle is eco-friendly with just 49 g/km of CO2 emission.
The economical option sips fuel at the rate of 2.13L/100km. The mileage is almost similar to Indian products with 150cc engines under the fairing. The high power output and higher revving range is the reason behind this value. The front 292mm and rear 230mm disc brake come with dual-channel ABS as standard. Yamaha has upgraded the rear tire to a 140-section unit for better grip. The bike weighs 142 kg and claims minimum ground clearance of 155mm. It comes with a higher than usual 825mm of seat height and VVA for higher performance when the engine is running in low range. As of now, Yamaha has no plans to launch the R125 in India.
