The fully-faired BMW G310RR has been in the news ever since it was showcased at the ‘BMW Motorrad Days’ in Japan. As per the recent buzz, the production version of the much-anticipated sports bike is all set to make its official debut in India on 15th July 2022. Here is the official teaser video of the upcoming 310cc sports bike, which has been posted by BMW Motorrad on its official YouTube channel.
BMW currently offers the G310R and G310GS under its 310 platform. On the other hand, TVS Motor offers the fully-faired Apache RR 310 based on the same platform. In the teaser video, BMW Motorrad has only revealed the tail light of the G310RR while the number plate sports “RR” graphics.
Following the design language of the S1000RR superbike, the upcoming BMW G310RR will compete with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha YZF-R3, Benelli 302R, and the KTM RC 390. In terms of pricing, the fully-faired sports bike will be placed in between the G310R and the G310GS, at around Rs 2.85 lakhs (ex-showroom).
The G310RR prototype showcased at the ‘BMW Motorrad Days’ featured carbon fibre detailing on the motorcycle which will be eventually toned down for the production variant. The under-seat exhaust system offers the bike a unique and distinguished stance, but the production model is highly unlikely to feature the same. It is expected to get the usual side-mounted exhaust system like the TVS Apache RR 310.
The production-spec model of the BMW G310RR is expected to get a similar visor for wind protection with sporty fairing at the front. The clip-on bars, dual headlights, and the side fairing will offer the sports bike a beast look, and it is expected to be the best-looking sports bike in its class.
BMW G310RR will be powered by Apache RR 310’s 312.2cc single-cylinder fuel-injected liquid-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 34HP @ 9,700 rpm and a peak torque of 27.3Nm @ 7,700 rpm. The engine will remain mated to a 6-speed transmission.
One of the major updates offered to the BS6 TVS Apache RR 310 is the addition of a coloured TFT all-digital instrument console that features smart Bluetooth connectivity technology. It allows the riders to pair their smartphone to the screen and run a number of functions via the TVS Connect App. The upcoming BMW G310RR is also expected to get the same console but with updated software and graphics.
