Toyota Yaris vs. Honda City vs. Hyundai Verna vs. Maruti Ciaz
ToyotaYaris has been launched in India for INR 8.75 lakh. This makes it the most expensive petrol base variant among all rivals. Still, features like seven airbags and ABS from base variant proves that Toyota values safety above all other brands here.
This sedan segment is ruled byHyundaiVerna, HondaCity andMarutiCiaz in India. As the fourth player enters, this 2.5 lakh unit a year segment will further get variable sales in FY19. The common factor among all these cars is their length while engine and feature list vary a lot between these four. Hyundai Verna is the most powerful option to consider as 1.6 variant is good for 123 HP of maximum power.
Maruti Ciaz offers the lowest power at just 91 HP. All four comes with manual as well as automatic gearbox options. Maruti Ciaz is the longest along all with 50mm more wheelbase than Verna and City. Yaris is the smallest with 100mm lesser wheelbase than Ciaz. Due to the least power on offer, Ciaz offers the most fuel efficient engine among others.
Toyota Yaris leads in terms of safety and list of equipment on top spec model. It comes with front parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system, both of which were absent from all other cars. Verna, on the other hand, offers ventilated seats and efficient power to weight ratio.
