Tata Harrier Price Increased in India: As expected, Tata Motors has silently increased the prices for the cars under its portfolio just at the beginning of the New Year. The revised price list has been updated with the dealerships and as per it, the price for the most cherished SUV from the brand, Tata Harrier has been increased by up to INR 45,000.
In addition to this, the brand has recently also introduced the lower-spec variant of the Harrier Dark Edition, which will now be available to the customers at a price tag of INR 16.01 lakhs (ex-showroom). The prices for the other cars under the Tata nametag have also been increased by a bit though one can further expect a certain hike in the prices once again with the launch of BS6-compliant variants of the same.
The brand is expected to launch the BS6-compliant models of the Tata Harrier, Nexon, Tigor and Tiago in the coming months while the models like Tata Safari Storme, Hexa, Zest and Bolt will be discontinued before the new emission norms commence in the country from April 1, 2020.
Powering the Tata Harrier, the first SUV from the brand with the underlying OMEGA platform is a Kryotec 2.0L turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 140HP @ 3750 rpm and a peak torque of 350Nm @ 1750-2500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
The brand is currently working on introducing a petrol engine as well as an automatic powertrain for their most sought-after SUV in the Indian market. The Tata Harrier was able to witness a total sales number of 1,458 units in December 2019 which is far more superior than other SUVs in its segment.
