2018 Hyundai i30 Spotted Testing in India

Hyundai i30 was recently spotted testing in India. The premium hatchback may not get a launch event soon as market for this segment is still not available in India. It seems like they are using this car for component testing in hot weather as no camouflage was seen on the body surface.

Still, Hyundai cannot be trusted on anything like this as they are known to raise segment standards to the next level with their international spec products. Mercedes A-Class is one premium hatchback that you can buy in this segment but buying a Hyundai for almost two-third of its price may not be feasible for India.

Hyundai is planning to add another hatchback into its lineup and that is expected to get ‘Santro’ moniker for 2018. It will be a sub 4 meter car that can replace Eon in coming months. When it comes to i30, this huge hatchback may not find enough buyers like other Hyundai hatchbacks.

The only restriction would come in the form of pricing. Those looking for a car at this price will divert themselves to premium sedans for sure. Hyundai i30 measures 4340 mm in length, 2039 mm in width and 1465 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2650 mm, leaving most sedans behind when its comes to overall cabin space.

It comes with three different engine options while safety tech like blind spot detection, rear cross traffic alert, autonomous emergency braking, 7-airbags and much more makes it a great option for city use.

The most powerful engine here products 164 HP while India spec car (if ever planned) would use the frugal 1.6L diesel motor. They may also share the 2.0L petrol with Elantra for sure. Hyundai currently retails Elantra and Tucson above their popular Verna and Creta. Both high placed cars perform less than average in terms of sales number.
