Suzuki recently unveiled the Alto Lapin LC, a Kei-class vehicle aimed at the Japanese market. It has a retro design that is reminiscent of the Fronte 360 from the late 1960s. Lapin is the French term for rabbit, which represents the four-vivacious wheeler’s personality.
The Kei-class automobiles, also known as city cars or micro cars in Japan, are a popular category. They make it easier to navigate the country’s tight, congested streets. The regulations, which were established in 1949, offer owners tax and insurance benefits.
The Suzuki Alto Lapin LC is an updated version of the third-generation Alto Lapin (codenamed: HE33S). They have outfitted the hatchback with circular headlamps and steel wheels. With a flat clamshell bonnet, a narrow grille with rounded sides, circular projector headlights, a broad air dam, and an upright windscreen, the Suzuki Alto Lapin LC has a retro-inspired appearance.
Indicator-mounted ORVMs, black B-pillars, and white steel wheels adjoin the automobile on the flanks. Round tail lamp units, a roof-mounted antenna, and a window wiper adorn the rear of the hatchback. A 660cc, three-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine that produces 63 hp powers the Suzuki Alto Lapin LC. The engine comes coupled with a CVT transmission and is available in front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive configurations.
The Suzuki Alto Lapin LC has a four-seater cabin with brown plaid fabric and chocolate-coloured faux leather upholstery, a dual-tone dashboard with a wood-effect or dark grey pearl finish, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a multifunctional steering wheel. It also has a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 7-inch infotainment screen, and dual airbags.
Suzuki Alto Lapin LC is a Kei-class car that is only available in Japan. Suzuki offers the hatchback in five different colour schemes: Light Green, Pastel Pink, Beige, Brown, and Blue. The price of the Alto Lapin ranges from JPY 14,09,100 (about Rs. 8.15 lakh) to JPY 16,46,700 (approximately Rs. 9.50 lakh) for the top-of-the-line variant.
