Price Drop: Audi A3 Gets INR 5 Lakh Price Cut in India

Audi A3 is celebrating the fifth anniversary in India by slashing the prices of all four variants by approx INR 5 lakh for the top one. The car now starts at INR 28.99 lakh and goes up to INR 31.99 lakh. Both the prices are ex-showroom. The base variant is named 35 TFSI Premium Plus while the top variant is the 35 TDI Technology. Here is the 2019 price list for the Audi A3 sedan in India.

  • A3 TFSI Premium Plus: INR 28.99 lakh
  • A3 TFSI Technology: INR 30.99 lakh
  • A3 TDI Premium Plus: INR 29.99 lakh
  • A3 TDI Technology: INR 31.99 lakh

In comparison, the old prices were quite high as the size of the car is not in accordance with the rivals that can be bought with this amount of money. Here is the older price list for Audi A3 before the price drop.

  • A3 TFSI Premium Plus: INR 33.12 lakh
  • A3 TFSI Technology: INR 34.57 lakh
  • A3 TDI Premium Plus: INR 34.93 lakh
  • A3 TDI Technology: INR 36.12 lakh

Audi India is struggling to keep the sales number considerable in comparison to rivals like Mercedes-Benz and BMW India. Audi A3 sedan is available with a 1.4L, four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The 2.0L, four-cylinder diesel engine on the car is good for 143 HP and 320 Nm. This engine is available with a 6-speed AT gearbox.

The same engine produces 400 Nm of maximum torque on the other cars in the Audi lineup. The car measures 4458mm in length and offer 2637mm of wheelbase. It comes with 16-inch wheels and weighs 1490kg. The boot space offered is 425 litres while the 50-litre fuel tank is good for a decent amount of range.
