Audi India has officially launched the most anticipated Audi Q8 flagship SUV at a price tag of INR 1.33 crore (ex-showroom). The coupe-inspired SUV will be available to the customers in a single variant while gets only a petrol-powered engine. The new flagship product from the brand will mark its foray into the BS6-compliant segment.
The reports suggest that the Audi Q8 will be brought to India as a CBU unit while only 200 units of the crossover will be available in the first phase. The all-new product from the brand has been placed above the Q7 SUV in the brand’s portfolio.
Coming to the design, the crossover SUV features a single frame octagonal grille design that makes it look fresh out of the Audi’s Q family. The bolder profile language of the Audi Q8 is further enhanced by sleek HD matrix LED headlights mated to 3D LED DRLs in addition to larger air vents mated to a muscular radiator grille.
The sophisticated and modern profile of the SUV is accentuated with the addition of a panoramic sunroof. The D-pillars of the SUV mates neatly with the sloping roof while the rear has also been offered a distinctive look with the addition of a long LED strip running above the taillights.
The brand has further equipped the Audi Q8 with 20-inch alloy wheels while the customers can also opt for 21-inch alloys based on their choices. The off-roading capabilities of the crossover SUV are further enhanced by the addition of Quattro all-wheel drive as well as a suspension with damper controls.
Powering the Audi Q8 is a BS6-compliant 3.0-litre turbo V6 petrol engine supported by a 48V mild-hybrid system that is capable of offering maximum power of 340HP and a peak torque of 500Nm. The engine comes mated to 8-Speed Tiptronic transmission. The crossover SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100kmph in just 5.9 seconds while the top speed and ground clearance stand at 250kmph and 254mm respectively.
The customers can also avail the Audi Q8 with Audi Exclusive customisation program that allows them to choose between 56 exteriors, 11 interior & 9 wooden inlay colour options.
