The all-new 2021 Audi A3 sedan has been recently launched by the brand on the digital platforms. The updated sedan will be available for purchase in the German markets from summer 2020 while getting a starting price tag of EUR 29,900 (INR 24.55 lakh).
Coming to the updated design language, the sedan has been imparted a premium luxury profile with a sportier front bumper and notable shoulder creases on the body panels. The brand has offered the sedan with a bolder outlook at the front which further features a redesigned honeycomb front grille as well as a premium headlight setup.
The updated variant is only 1.6 inches longer when compared to the current-gen variant and features a coupe-like sloping roof. The rear diffuser has been offered a strategic design language adding to the aerodynamics while the brand has indeed equipped the updated sedan with its all-new matrix LED headlight setup which is mated to 15 LED segments that can be activated individually.
Coming to the interiors, the 2021 Audi A3 sedan has been equipped with an all-new interior that now takes inspiration from the Mk4 Audi A8 that was launched in 2017. The minimalistic design language is complemented with the sharper dashboard design at the front while the centre console and floor console have been imparted the similar outlook.
The cabin has been further equipped with a 12.3-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit Plus while the dashboard has been shod with a 10.1-inch MMI Navigation plus infotainment system. The brand has equipped the cabin with a Wi-fi hotspot while the customers also get Alexa voice assistant support.
Coming to the aesthetics, the updated 2021 Audi A3 sedan measures 4,495mm in length, 1,816mm in width and 1,425mm in height while gets a wheelbase of 4,495mm. The brand will be availing the Audi A3 next-gen version in the German markets with three powertrains namely 35 TFSI petrol, 35 TFSI petrol-electric mild-hybrid and 35 TDI diesel.
The 1.5-litre TFSI engine equipped on the petrol and petrol-electric mild-hybrid variant will be good for 150 HP and 250 Nm while the 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine variant will offer 150 HP and 360 Nm. The former will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission while the latter two shall receive a 7-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Indian markets are expected to get the updated sedan variant sometime in the year 2021.
