2018 BMW X3 was recently launched in India for INR 49.99 lakh. This price is given for Expedition variant while Luxury Line costs INR 56.70 lakh. The prices are ex-showroom and stay same all over the country. BMW X3 rivals none other than Mercedes GLC and Audi Q5 in India.
BMW will launch more powerful 2.0L petrol, 3.0L diesel and 3.0L petrol engine later on this car. xDrive 4×4 and 8-speed automatic gearbox comes standard on both variants. All new platform under the visible section makes 2018 BMW X3 lighter by 55 kg than its older variant.
The all-new model is equipped with features matching India spec BMW 5-series. Buyers get touch control iDrive infotainment system that also responds to gestures. Safety is given equal importance with 360 degree camera and stiffer chassis for better control of the car on all surfaces.
The present generation engine is 2.0L, four cylinder turbo diesel unit producing 190 HP and 400 Nm of torque. Refinement levels are extremely good while features like head up display keep driver always alert and loaded with information. The engine on offer is currently the most selling BMW engine in India. Also, extended wheelbase helped BMW get more out of their newly launched model.
Before the official launch of 2018 BMW X3, all variants except X3 M Sport were phased out slowly. This helped BMW buyers plan their next purchase as they can now get the same car with updated feature list for a minimal hike in price.
More than that, Luxury Line variant comes loaded with every possible comfort that buyers demand around this segment. Rivals are also available well in reach as Audi Q5 starts at INR 53.25 lakh and Mercedes GLC is placed even lower at INR 49.94 lakh. BMW is currently India’s second highest selling luxury brand.
