BMW has added a new variant to its GT range, the 3 series GT Sport, and has launched it in India as well. The car is priced at INR 46.60 lakh and is one of the most affordable cars from the company and the most affordable GT by BMW for sale in India. The model has been placed below the GT Luxury Line and the GT M-Sport, both being INR 2.6 lakh and INR 4.6 lakh more expensive than the newest member of the Gran Turismo family, respectively.
The lower price comes with a few missing features which one can see on the higher trims of the same series. The list of the missing features includes adaptive LED headlights, cruise control with braking function, and the 10.5-inch adaptive instrument display with the individual character designs for the drive modes. Instead of the infotainment system that we see on the other models in the lineup, the 3-series GT Sport will feature a high-resolution MID with extended content.
The most affordable GT will come in only one engine option, a 1995cc 4-cylinder diesel unit that puts out a maximum power of 190 hp at 4000 rpm and a peak torque of 400 Nm from 1750-2500 rpm. The car will be rear-wheel drive and the power to the rear wheels will be sent by the existing 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that we see on the other models. The performance on the car is impressive too, with the 0-100 kmph time being 7.7 seconds. There are four driving modes on the car, Comfort, EcoPro, Sport, and Sport+.
The interior of the car is finished in ash grain with metal inlays and a fine wooden trim. There is an option among the seat upholstery, with a choice between Sensatec Black with red highlights, and Sensatec Veneto beige. The seats on the front are bolstered for a sports package, and the steering wheel also gets red stitching. The safety package offered by BMW in the Luxury Line and the M-Sport models will also be offered in the 3-series GT Sport. There are three colour options to choose from for the exterior, Alpine White, Metallic Black Sapphire, and Metallic Imperial Blue.
