BMW India has launched the 5-series sedan with a petrol heart after the successful entry of the 3-series petrol variants in India. The move would help the company in establishing a better name when it comes to luxury car buyers with petrol as a preference. This would also help them if the diesel ban expands further to the lower category diesel cars. The car has been launched in the Luxury Line trim and comes as a CBU to the country. It comes with significant visual enhancements like chrome on the kidney grill, window frames and luxury badges on side panel and car key.
The car comes with a 2.0 L, 4-cylinder petrol motor producing 184 HP and 270 Nm of torque. It completes its 0-100 kmph sprint in just 7.9 seconds and claims a top speed of 233 kmph. The engine comes mated to a 8-speed Steptronic automatic gearbox. The car comes with auto start-stop, eco-pro mode, brake energy regeneration and BMW Connected Drive system. The equipment list include Harman Kardon sound system, park distance control and satellite navigation. It is being offered in 3 shades as well as the option of the interior trim.
