2018 BMW 6-Series GT has been launched in India at INR 58.90 lakh (Ex-showroom). This places the model straight against Mercedes E-Class LWB and offers ample features to keep each passenger in the utmost possible comfort.
BMW 6GT comes with massive dimensions and presently, only single variant with 2.0L petrol engine will be on offer. BMW has promised a diesel powered variant later in 2018. The car was once over INR 1 crore and BMW went forward with local assembly to bring it down to this effective price tag. 6GT will get the 2.0L and 3.0L diesel engine around Q3 of CY 2018.
Just to get an overview for this amazing product, one should know that it measures 5091 mm in length, 2158 mm in width and 1538 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 3070 mm and thus, rear legroom is available in abundance for everyone on the back seat.
BMW’s 2.0L, four cylinder engine is good for 258 HP at 5000-6500 rpm and 400 Nm at 1550-4400 rpm. The engine comes mated to an eight speed automatic gearbox. This makes the 6GT good for 0-100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds. Additional features like dual axle air suspension, launch control and cruise control with braking function makes it more effective than anything else at this price.
Buyers will also get rear seat entertainment package with twin 10.2 inch screens. The infotainment system comes with 20GB hard drive for maps and audio data while console used here is fully digital unit with driver specific themes.
BMW 6-Series offers gesture control, 18 inch wheels, sport seats, LED lights and sensors for both ends. BMW 6GT is a better alternative for those who were going for a 5-Series sedan as they get additional legroom and much more boot space in comparison to that model.
