  4. Honda – 17,602 units

Maruti Suzuki claimed the first position with 1,34,036 units, leaving behind the five digit number that they once scored a year back. This helped them claim a market share of 49.9%, clearly explaining that 499 cars out of 1000 were sold from Maruti dealerships only. Hyundai, on the other hand, scored 45,371 units to achieve a 16.9% market share and second overall spot.

The launch of 2018 Creta has further helped them claim strong numbers. Tata Motors stood third with 18,213 units while Honda regained the fourth position with 17,602 units. The former had 6.8% market share whereas Honda was good for 6.6%.

Mahindra came fifth with 15,942 units in June 2018, claiming 5.9% market share in the same month. Toyota registered 13,088 units, most of which come from Innova Crysta, Yaris, and Fortuner. If Yaris becomes more successful in coming months, Toyota could switch position with Tata, Honda or Mahindra.

Ford India claimed the seventh position with 8444 units while Renault followed close by registering 6636 units in June 2018. Nissan and Volkswagen got the ninth and tenth spot with 3509 and 2942 units respectively. Jeep India posted an independent sales figure of 1478 units while Skoda came next with 1394 units.

Fiat India was the last registered brand with 40 units. The number is even lower in comparison to most luxury car manufacturers of India. Renault-Nissan alliance and Volkswagen group were the lowest scorers among independent Japanese and Indian brands.
