Brand-Wise Sales Report of Cars [April 2017]

Brand-Wise Sales Report of Cars [April 2017]

Indian car market saw variable sales for most brands, helping few manufacturers post positive sales while majority witnessed a drop from the same month last year. As always, Maruti Suzuki was the highest selling brand with 1,44,081 units sold in April 2017. They simply sold 1,17,045 units last year and saw a growth of 23.1 percent. Hyundai gained the second spot with 44,758 cars while the gap of 1 lakh units between the first and second brand could be the widest possible around the world. The drop in numbers become more prominent when you consider Mahindra's 19,325 units. They stood third and lost 14.7 percent of sales when compared to April 2016. The broken sales would have gone into the first two brands as popularity of Vitara Brezza and Creta must have pushed the UVs down in Mahindra lineup. Honda stood 4th with 14,480 units while Toyota sold a total of 12,964 units in April 2017. Tata stayed close and bagged the 6th spot with 12,827 units sold in April 2017.
