Bugatti La Voiture Noire, the most expensive new car ever sold, was showcased at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. The car was sold to a buyer for $18.7 Million (INR 132 Crore approx, direct conversion), that too including all the taxes. The price was confirmed by none other than Bugatti president Stephan Winkelmann. The car is based on the same platform as the Chiron and Divo, using the powerful 8.0L W16 quad-turbo engine that produces 1500 HP of maximum power and 1600 Nm of maximum torque.
The car flaunts six exhaust pipes in one straight line and still, the design looks purely functional in comparison to most cars where the dual exhaust exit feels like an overdone gesture. The rear comes with a flowing tail section with the light going from one corner to the other in the same manner as the body design. The top view clears a mesh-inspired front and rear cover while the glass section is perfectly synced with the black body parts.
Bugatti La Voiture Noire comes with massive alloy wheels and tires on the car feature a virtual alloy wheel extension through the painted part. The interior has not yet been revealed on the show while Bugatti executive even preferred to keep the buyer’s identity secret. The one-off model must have got impressive interior changes as the asking price had gone up by a considerable margin.
The value of the car will get higher with passing time as one-off models carry a lot of collector value with themselves. Also, many buyers prefer storing these in climate controlled chambers than using them for everyday fun. The Bugatti Chiron was priced much higher than most usual cars and Divo further took the record up by a considerable margin. Still, the price for both the models feel decent when compared to the massive price of Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
