‘Charge Cars’ is here with their electric Mustang for the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The show goes live from July 4 and the new product will be showcased as a display car rather than being a race-spec participant. The hill climb event will see many important cars, most of them modified to take on the challenge with full pride.
However, only a few stock cars are capable of handling such tough conditions for a race. The electric Mustang is using 1960s body style that Charge Cars will source from a licensed manufacturer, using just the visible section along with components that take green mobility to the next level and retains the visual value.
The electric components have been sourced from a brand named ‘Arrival’ while changes seen on the first-hand includes modern headlights, exhaust-free rear end, and updated tail lights. The huge set of tires keep healthy traction levels alive at all times, with Charge Cars using a powerful electric motor pair that offers 476 HP and 1200 Nm. The result of this setup is very fascinating, bringing 0-100 kph in just 4 seconds. The battery pack paired to the car is 64 kWh, offering a total range of 322 kilometres. The 50kW DC fast charging helps the same acquire usable power in the shortest possible time.
The car comes with a large infotainment display, impressive interiors, and a limited 499 unit production run. Every electric Mustang will cost 3,00,000 GBP (INR 2.65 Crore approx, direct conversion). It seems like a big price tag for a car that comes out of a startup but the use of licensed body and premium components have made this car more like an expensive premium collectable for Mustang fans around the globe.
