List of Automatic SUVs You Can Buy in India Under INR 15 Lakh

List of Automatic SUVs Under INR 15 Lakh: Compact SUVs have become the hype of the Indian automobile market. All the brands are rushing to create their own vehicle to counter the sales of the others in the segment. Automatic transmissions have served as an added luxury feature on this segment of cars. These urban SUVs have a certain refinement to their drive quality, and the finishing of the materials on the inside is usually premium as well.

They are quite practical as they can handle any terrain, and also because they have quite a lot of space in them. When you have a compact SUV which has an automatic gearbox, you do not have to worry about anything when you are on a vacation. The terrains will be handled by the capabilities of the SUV, while the fuel efficiency and power delivery will be handled by the automatic gearbox. Currently, there are 8 compact SUVs that are sold in the Indian market with an automatic gearbox.

List of Automatic SUVs Under INR 15 Lakh

1) Maruti Vitara Brezza: INR 8.60-10.33 Lakh

The Brezza is a rational choice that people would make due to its low running cost and features available in a rather cheap price. The AMT gearbox on the Brezza is not perfect or a feature of luxury, but a matter of convenience. On the whole, this compact SUV is quite spacious and practical and is everything that you can get at this price.

2) Hyundai Creta: INR 13.47-14.88 Lakh

The best compact SUV that is available in the Indian market, on the basis of the equipment list and features offered, the Creta suffers only one drawback, a price higher than others in the segment. The Creta uses a torque converter 6-speed automatic transmission, and there is a surge of torque available throughout the rev range.

3) Tata Nexon: INR 7.51-10.59 Lakh

The Tata Nexon is quite a style statement and is one of the best looking compact SUVs in the market today. The automatic transmission on the Nexon uses the AMT technology and is tuned just right. The ride quality is smooth and the overall car is quite a value-for-money product. The only complaint on the Nexon is the poor performance of the petrol engine, which feels a bit sluggish to drive.

4) Ford EcoSport: INR 9.76-11.36 Lakh

Ford has gone out of its way to make the EcoSport the best compact SUV in this segment. The refreshed model makes up for all the things that were wrong with the previous generation. The ride quality is quite smooth and there is a long list of equipment and features available on the EcoSport. The compact SUV employs a 6-speed torque converter dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

5) Renault Duster: INR 9.95-12.33 Lakh

One of the more basic compact SUVs on the list, the Duster has a slightly more plush cabin over its last generation. The only drawback of this compact SUV is that the cabin does not feel premium enough for the price that it is being sold at. The design is old but has some new accents that can appeal to the customers. The diesel variant employs an AMT automatic gearbox, while the petrol uses a CVT.

6) Nissan Terrano @ INR 14.65 Lakh

The Terrano is based on the same platform as the Duster but it has a more plush cabin along with a longer equipment list. The Terrano is built for a tough terrain and there is no track that it cannot handle. One should prefer the diesel engines over the petrol variants, as they are the only ones in which the automatic AMT gearbox is offered. The automatic transmission is quite a boon to use on urban roads as the manual variants have quite a heavy clutch.

7) Mahindra NuvoSport: INR 9.52-10.25 Lakh

The NuvoSport is essentially a Quanto with a new chassis, engine, and automatic gearbox. Mahindra has used the AMT technology for shifting between gears and it has been tuned poorly. The shifts are jerky and slow, and the creep function has a delayed response.

8) Mahindra TUV300: INR 9.49-10.96 Lakh

Mahindra TUV300 SuperStyler Edition

To make up for the lack of features on the NuvoSport, Mahindra came out with the TUV300. However, the TUV300 also faces the same drawbacks as the NuvoSport, as no changes have been made to the automatic gearbox. The ride is bouncy as well.
